posted on March 5, 2001 04:15:31 PM....I just found out that a friends daughter decided to sell online at ebay etc and answered some stupid spam on her email that said "take credit cards online"...I am sure you guys know the drill...she clicked on it...called them, paid her money and now has a "merchant account"......The name of the company is E-Commerce Exchange..They have her credit card info and her money......their url is www.ecx.com ...Has ANYONE heard of these people...know anything about them?? Or did she get had?? I can't believe ANYONE would open some strange spam and do this...........Pam

The Ecommerce is separate from her domain hoster....she is with homestead...just signed up I guess. Upon further investigation...this gal is paying (monthly) a total of almost $2500. for this merchant account - E Commerce Exchange. It is something she is going to run with this homestead domain......I went to the E Commerce site and tried to figure it out...Has anyone had experience or know someone who has had experience with this company??

I use E-commerce exchange mostly for my website as a way to accept credit cards and i have been very happy using them for that.. and since i already have it for my website i do offer the CC payment method as an option to paying by paypal.. but i wouldn't suggest using it strictly for online auctions as not that many people have paid with method as they mostly prefer paypal or the standard check or money order methods How ever she should be able to cancel the e-commerce account that may impose a fee to do so.. on the brighter side of things.. she could sale her account.. Or if she needs help operating her account she can email me at [email protected]
