I have a buyer that keeps e-mailing with an attachment, and when I respond back seemingly he's not getting the e-mails. I haven't opened any of the attachments. This guy is really get ticked at me, could he have a virus and doesn't know it?

I gad a buyer like that and his first virus he sent me infected about 40 files in the time it took Norton to come up. Now if you write to him by Ebays *Send this auction to a friend* and tell him you believe he might be sending you a virus, (and he is on web tv you say?) he might just get madder and tell you...*impossible! Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman is taking care of it.* He might have sent you a virus and KNOWS it and is mad that you can keep on mailing him. How would him having a virus prevent him from getting YOUR emails if he keeps mailing you? I don't get it.....and the more I think about it the more confused I am getting.

Mah645~ Webtv cannot get viruses. If your e-mails are not bouncing back, he should be receiving them.

I assume he had got the EOA I sent him, because he e-mailed three weeks later wanting to know when I sent his item. When I let him know I had not received payment,he starts up with the I don't have the information on the auction.I do that several times, then I get do you still want to sell me this item or not.But everyone of his e-mails have an attachment.

I had webtv for over two years, but am now using a computer. I once called tech support when I was on webtv to see if I could get a virus or send one & they said no, webtv can neither send or receive a virus. When I asked why I was told that their filters filter them out.
I don't know if it's true or not, but with thousands of emails I never had a problem.
If you want to check tech support at webtv here is their phone # 800-469-3288

I use a major telephone in the midwest for DSL. I can not communicate with WebTV users. I receive their messages but they don't get mine. SOmetimes it takes up to a week for the message to bounce back to me.I have to use Yahoo and only through the web not via a POP account into Eudora.

WebTv is virus free...we cannot get them or send them. We have our share of hackers, but NO viruses.
All puter ISPs get my emails. I can't always get theirs...the problem is with them, not us. msn is a bad one...had some friends leave WebTv go to puter, had many problems with msn and getting emails from EVERYBODY.
All of my buyers on puters having problems getting emails to me tell me that they are having email problems with everybody, not just WebTv. Most of them go to yahoo, hotmail or excite to get their emails to me and then they come through! So it is their ISP..not WebTv.

Webtv is just a modem, that's why it can't get a virus. I used to send emails to some ISP's emails (AOL is the worse) that would break up the message not allowing them to view my email. I had to turn off my signature because it'd break up the message, usually it would go as an attachment which their browser sometimes wouldn't accept. Some people are afraid to open attachments. I've gotten some attachments too that my browser couldn't read.
WebTV users can't "catch" or "transmit" viruses. The attachments from your bidder are most likely one of two things:
(1) A signature
I generally turn off my sig when e-mailing someone on a computer, unless I'm sure it won't show up as an attachment, because I know how computer users feel about attachments, even from people they know.
(2) Your original e-mail, to which he is replying.
Your bidder is probably hitting "reply" and choosing the option of attaching your original message.
He may not realize that you (like many computer users) didn't know that WebTV is virus-free, or he may not be aware of computer users' concerns about viruses (since we can't get them or pass them on).
Additionally, he might not know how to cut and paste the text of your original message into a reply. This problem is not limited to WebTV users. (A lot of my friends on computers don't know how to do that either!)
As for not receiving your e-mails, it could be true. Your ISP may be on WebTV Networks' spammer blacklist, or there could be some other problem. It has taken up to two weeks for me to receive bounce notices when my e-mails don't get through, so I imagine it could be the same for computer users.
I'd suggest a polite "I'm sorry we're having such a problem" e-mail, using the "send this auction to a friend" feature at eBay, as those seem to get through okay to WebTV users. Or you could use a free web-based e-mail address such as Hotmail or Yahoo (although right now a lot of people, myself included, are having big problems with accessing Yahoo mail, so Yahoo might not be the best choice for you in what's already a frustrating situation for both of you).
Also, you may want to look into a service such as CertifiedMail.com, which will notify you that your e-mail has been received and opened, or that it hasn't been.
