I received 2 emails today. Both coming from "[email protected]". One subject line "Thanks You" the next "Question". Both emails open directly to what looks like a Russian site that appears to be an index of some kind. The left navigation bar reads something to the effect that the site is not available due to unethical and/or illegal content.
Does anyone know anything about these? I'm running my anti-virus now to see if it picks up anything.

I didn't get that email, but if I did I'd be nervous too! I wonder uf it was a scam to get Yahoo IDs and passwords.

YES! Unfortunately, my email program takes me to the next one automatically when I delete another.

Mine quickly opened a number of windows in succession (filled up my bottom taskbar) and they were PORNO sites. One was on bestiality. I got one last week and it had child porno. I deleted it immediately, but wish I had saved it to report. I did save the bestiality one, but does anyone know where I should report it?

Yahoo free e-mail service seems to be the worst at sending out porn mail. I always get a few a week at Yahoo. I always send them to [email protected] I am not sure it does any good though.

Watch your credit card statements. I had some fraudulent charges from Russia. Small amts $5-10. Also I find any fraudulent charges are usually porno sites

A couple of weeks ago, I got several e-mails from [email protected] and they were spam for a company of some kind. When I complained to [email protected], they replied that these had not originated from yahoo and there were no addresses like that in existence.

They have since stopped, but I have no idea how they are coming through like that.

Trouble with saving some of these sites to turn in is you may happen across is that they are illegal material to possess and you may run into a cop who says why should I worry about the source I can't do anything about in Russia when I have you here now?

Kind of like calling the police because you find out your roomer has drugs in his possesion. Welcome to a lesson in forfiture.

Aramatha - I tried the site you mentioned, but it took me to a site for performing artists and speakers. Can you please confirm? Thanks!

If you are an AOL subscriber you can send unwanted emails (spam, porn and others) to [email protected].

Skwid, so sorry. I found them through a newsgroup and forgot the proceedure as to how I finally got their help.

Go to Removeyou.com ~ you will see a place on the homepage to enter your email address(es). I did this. Some of the spam stopped, but I began to get more.

Also on the homepage of Removeyou.com at the top of the page, click on "Contact" and a place will come up for you to write to them. I did this. There are also click ons at the top of the page "Report Spam" and "ISP Abuse Services". You might want to use these also. I was really upset and told them a bit of what I was going through. I got an email from a man and he explained to me how these people are getting through and gave me the addy to forward to him all of my spam, porn, etc. He has emailed me several times.
They take your forwarded spam/porn and go after these people (he will explain it to you). You don't have to join anything...they go after the spammers to join so that your email addy is deleted from the spammers data base. In this man's own words, if they do not join in order to remove you, "we will never leave them alone". They are also in the process of putting even more advanced software into place to track these people down.

Once you do this, you will see how it works. I was ready to get rid of my WebTv and my addys, it was that bad.
Now it isn't. I was trying to get help for quite a while....finally I did.

This info is at a lot of NGs now cause these people mean business. You won't be sorry you did. Again, go to Removeyou.com and follow the directions I gave above. I did and I am so glad I did. Write to them also. They will email you and are very, very helpful.

Thanks, Aramatha! Your explanation makes a lot of sense, and I have the site bookmarked...waiting for that next spam! I delete them as fast as they arrive, but now there's an alternative. Thanks for your help.
