I recently won a DOS computer game for $0.50. In the post-sale email the seller states that there is $0.50 for the game, $2.50 for shipping and insurance, and $2.00 fee for accepting PayPal. Is she crazy? I sent her the $3.00 via PayPal, then she sent another email reminding me about her $2.00 PayPal fee. I will have to let her know that it is against eBay's rules to pass on credit card fees to buyers.

Ain't that irritating? I just had one like that last week. The seller only accepts PayPal, yet I get to pay for his convienance? I don't think so! I had just turned the seller into Safe Harbor for the surcharge on another auction, so I knew he'd been warned about ebay's rule. I didn't pay the charge and I got a reminder email saying I forgot to pay for PayPal.

It'll be interesting to see what your seller does now that you've alerted him/her to eBay's rule. Good luck and don't give in and pay! )

PayPal charges her 30¢ and she charges you $2.00? She's either crazy or greedy beyond words or her math needs improving either way she should be avoided. Report her to SafeHarbor.

This is against eBay rule and PayPal rule. It is against the law in many states.

She didn't tell you about the charge until AFTER the auction?

Nope. I wouldn't pay either. Email safeharbor with a copy of her email(s) about the chargewith full headers, and do the same to Paypal.

Sellers like this suck.

REPORT THE LOW LIFE TO SAFE HARBOR !!

EVEN IF SHE DECIDES NOT TO CHARGE YOU THE EXTRA FEES, REPORT HER ANYWAY JUST FOR ATTEMPTING THAT STUPID *&$# !!!

FORWARD ALL EMAILS TO [email protected] WITH FULL HEADERS AND STATE "This seller is charging a surcharge for credit card payments via Paypal"

I personally would look to see if any of her auctions stated that, and if they did I would have ebay shut them down.

I would then contact the high bidders of all her completed auctions and ask that they to report her if she attempted or in fact did charge any of them this surcharge.

Believe me, this seller is real lucky I wasn't her buyer. I guarantee I would have her NARU in as little as 3 days !!!!
