Has anyone else experienced memory problems related to ebud? As a result of all the various changes and updates, I have about 70MB of ebud/auctiva files and am afraid to delete any since I'm not a programmer and don't know which ones are vital.
I even took my computer in yesterday and got memory upgrade to 320MB and hard drive to 20GB and still when I hit properties/performance it goes down to less than 20%. I don't have a virus and none of this happened until Auctiva did their latest change (from ebud to auction manager).
If anybody has any ideas, I'm listening. This software has taken up more of my time than it's worth but I haven't found a better program although I'm sure there's one out there somewhere.

I'm with you. We have problems with Ebud locking up, and the tools and browser buttons becoming nonfunctional. We have to close and reopen it periodically to get a temporary fix.

If there is a better program I'd try it.

Me also.....I still have the earth symbol on my desktop, as well as the activa face. I have no idea what I can take out. I asked once, & CS said to make a backup copy, then delete things one at a time as a way to evaluate what you need. Wouldn't it be easier if they would just give me a list of necessary files?
As for the darn thing locking up,I have that problem too. I hope the upgrade I did this morning fixes that.
I like the setup, & love the cha-ching sound when I get bids, but if they don't fix it I will not renew when my 400+ days are up.

Yeah, that happens all the time but pales in comparison to all the other problems. Had they kept Ebud in place and just updated it after the email problem with ebay then everything would've been fine. As it is, I'm having to keep ebud intact because even after copying files, there is info in ebud that is not in auctiva manager and vice versa. So I now have a record-keeping nightmare and my computer memory is being eaten up by all this.
And I paid for this. When I first started having problems with ebud I asked for compensation since they took up more of my time than any other company since I've been ebaying. They kept promising someone would email me from their sales dept. I mentioned this to them about a dozen times and they never did anything.

Our friend from south of the border is a much less expensive solution--I was an ebud beta tester and 100% dependent on it. Just dumped it along with AW

This may sound stupid, unbelievable or even like an out right lie, but I haven't updated eBud for months and am having no problems.

I never update a program unless I begin having problems, as I have , often new updates create more problems than they are worth.

I will probably not renew with eBud when my time is expired, as I can accomplish the same via my AuctionTamer, which I personally like better and I definitely like the support from AuctionTamer better. It has a few more manual steps in it than eBud, but on the other hand, some things are more automated so it is a trade off, but for a wonderful support system.

Where these guys really get you is with your time. You enter all this data onto their (usually faulty) software and then you're hooked. You will do anything to save that data so you have to work with them. When you get pimp-slapped you still keep coming back for more. And they offer no apologies. I think they assume that we're all aspiring software writers and this is somehow part of our apprenticeship. The worst part of this is how it's eaten up my computers ability to do anything else. It's amazing how bulky (memory-wise) their program(s) is.
