Am I the only one who is hurting from the new fees?
Most of my auctions were successful because of the 10 day auctions. The fee for that has almost doubled. Last year I must have paid eBay over $1,000 dollars in fees. That means that if I keep on trying to sell things like
I did last year I will be paying eBay about twice as much for fees just for this year.
Last month since the fee for ten day auctions went up I started to list my auctions for 7 days. My auctions did so much worse from how they were doing when I could list them for 10 days. I simply can't afford
to list the auctions for ten days anymore.
Since eBay is the biggest auction site I don't know what to do. I have checked out other auction sites and it seems like things on the other auction sites just don't sell.
It is like eBay has the monopoly over all the other auction sites so they are able to take advantage of the people who made them what they are. I know that if they keep on getting away with raising their fees they will soon decide to raise them more and more.
Since the new fees it is starting to not be worth listing on eBay anymore. I have also stopped bidding on items there because now I
don't have much extra money to spend there. I end up spending all my extra money on eBay's fees.

I thought the 10 day auctions cost another .10 cents. From .25 to .35 cents if I'm not mistaken.

Why not pay the extra .10 cents for better sales? If it gets you higher ending prices to run it for 10 days it's worth it, right?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not thrilled about the new rates either, but it's either deal with it or get a real job.

Sales are generally down a bit regardless of the length of the auction.

If paying an extra $0.10 for the 10-day auction gets you more than a dollar extra (compared to a 7-day auction) it's worth it.

If you aren't making money, you are trying to sell the wtong stuff! Just because it sold well last year doesn't mean it's going to sell this year.

I used to do 10 auctions also. I just went with the 7 day. It hasn't hurt my sales although I did get more page veiws when I could run them through 2 weekends.

I believe that when the fees went up, it will cost 40 cents to list a 10 auction won't it?
30 cents for the fee increase and then an extra 10 cents for a 10 auction.

I may be wrong, but is the way I understood it. Goodness knows I have been wrong more than once!

Anyway, that is up 15 cents from what it used to be, so it may not have doubled but it did raise substantially.

Hi

Just my two cents.....

10 day auctions seem a bit long.
When bidders start to bid, a lot don't want to hang around for another 10 days to see what happens.

7 day auctions IMHO is just about right.
Enough time to generate interest. Not too long and not too short.

Peace,
JJ

As I said in another thread when eBay started charging extra for 10 day auctions I started running only 7 day auctions. It has not hurt sales at all.
