hi all,
whats the best insurace company to go with to insure my packages, I ship USPS, but do not like there insurance, any advice appreciated.

I use U-pic.com, so far so good their rates are about half, Canada is considered domestic, and they cover shipping costs. Their claim process is pretty simple though I have not had to use it yet.

Aside from the fact that USPS insurance is expensive, their claims procedure involves a fair amount of paperwork for buyer and seller, their decisions regarding acceptance or denial of claims can be arbitrary, their policy regarding proof of value for the lost/damaged item is enforced inconsistently and they don't refund the cost of shipping in the event the item is damaged, I think USPS insurance is just fine.

Well, my guess is that about half of those things apply to Upic too; we're still not sure what the original poster hopes for in a new insurance company.
The one and only thing I hope for with insurance is that when the buyer claims the package has not been received, I can insist that buyer participate in the process, filling out the form which says it was not recieved, possibly encountering a signature showing that it was received. This process is what finds lost packages. I can't really see where Upic can do this for me.
