Is there anyone, here, with experience using FTP Software? I've tried a few; some good, some bad—mostly shareware and freebies. Anyone care to present his or her suggestions or determents regarding FTP software?

I have been using WS_FTP for many years and never had a problem with it. There are a lots of other programs available but I've never felt the need to look for an alternative.
Check out www.tucows.com. You can d/l tons of internet software and they rate each program.

I'll cast my vote for WS_FTP as well. I had used CuteFTP a while back, but heard some not so good things about it.
We removed it from our system and downloaded WS_FTP and I am very happy with it.

On the outside chance that anyone uses a Mac to upload, Fetch is the FTP client preferred by many Mac users and the one I personally use to maintain my web site...

WS_FTP is good because they have a "free" version if you qualify.
The only issue I've encountered with CuteFTP is that it not always "smart" about detecting what file type is being transferred and might accidentally transfer a binary file as ASCII or vice versa. But I always transfer my files as binary so it has never been issue.
CuteFTP and FTP Voyager are great programs, but you have to register if you plan to use permanently.
