Need to vent. Had a buyer call me this morning 6:30a and wanted to "buy" a high-ticket auction item.

Then buyer wants to send me 50% payment by sending me multiples of half cut $20 bills, and said would send me the other half when the item was received.

I was thinking, "Who dresses you in the morning?"

Maybe you have one of those items that is broken? Send him half and the second half when you get full payment.

LOL. This is great! So, what did you tell this enterprising and imaginative person?

Edited to add: yisgood has the best answer! Wish I had thought of that.

I too had a customer send me half a $100 bill in the mail.
I emailed and asked why she stated when the item was received she would send the other half.
I refused and she went into a rant.
2 days later her email address was not valid and a week later she was NARU.
I decided to return the half bill but she never provided a shipping address.
After careful inspection of the bill I noticed it was not evenly cut.
As an accountant grad I know if you have 51% of the bill it is 100% valid.
S I brought it to the bank turned it over.
It took 10 days to get validated but I received the money.
She never contacted me So I tried to get Contact info which wasn't valid.
I was amazed by her stupidity.

I think this might be a variation of COD.
In halving it you might have a
Crazyperson Online or an Online Dimwit.

Actually, I think the proper term is halfwit.
