As the Auction Watch Tag notes advise...
eBay has a glitch causing relists to be charged.
Be aware...I just relisted a bunch..all charged again....
Another mess....

????
Relisted auctions are always charged the listing fees again. You are credited the listing fees if the item sells the second time around.

Mr. Jim...that is correct. However, when relisting, just before submittal it is noted that "if item sells the fee is credited to your acc't" ...something like that.
Also supporting this is the TAG notes of last night.
It appears that to get any refund, a listing of the dates, item #s, must be provided.
For me, I'll probably do what I did before...advise my credit card co. That was the only way I received credit - eBay never answered...on the other issues.
If it were just a couple of dollars - I wouldn't get excited, but considering all the goof ups they produce, we review our statement closely. for awhile, we advised eBay of items they hadn't even charged us for.
They're a trip

After reading all these posts, I quickly went to MYeBay Account page to find that I have not been credited any relisting fees since March 13th - the day before Auctionwatch implemented their new fee structure. I do feel this is an auctionwatch problem and have been looking at Auctionworks. Does anyone have any experience with them?
Your replies would be appreciated.

Hi...this problem relates to eBay...it is already being discussed on the DNF board as well.
Their 'engineers' are working on it. .30cents can add up quickly....

It is NOT an auctionwatch problem - I have been using Mister Lister since the fees went into place, and its happening to me too..
Approximate date of problem is 3/14. Any relists on or after 3/14 have been treated by Ebay as NEW auctions - not qualifying for relist credit. You'll see in your Account summary that no items are showing up as "Insertion fee Relisted Item: XXXXX".
They are "aware" of the problem, but have not made an announcement to the Ebay community (surprise surprise, if sellers don't catch it that's extra $ for them).
Sellers need to provide original auction # and relisted auction # of those items that sold 2nd time around to receive credit - much in the way I guess Ebay Motors works..
Problem was still there as of last night - although it has been claimed that the problem was fixed this weekend - that was false.

Well, ever since I stopped using AW and process my relistings directly on eBay, it works just fine. Credit is received when the item sells the second time around without fail. It makes me feel like AW, ONCE AGAIN, is blaming someone else for their own problems.....

I did 3 relists last night through Ebay - manually jumping through the relist hoops - They did not come through as relists - they were treated as new auction listings..
Maybe its a sporadic glitch that you're lucky to avoid.. I have auctions closing tonight that were relisted on the 15th - that'll be the first real test for me as to what did or didn't get appropriate credits.

Hi Sharkbaby....I don't think this is AW's doing this time.
It's eBay's issue.
Still unaddressed. Some on the DNF said earlier they'd stopped relisting

I relist in the hopes of yes, getting sales to reduce the fees, but its less time consuming that preparing new auctions again or even re-uploading a ML file...
I also enjoy the link back to your old auction - but that apparently doesn't work when relisting through Vrane.. 8(
I will probably due what others are doing - keeping a log in Excel to track these thigns from now on... because can't trust Ebay to do it right...

And, no notice from eBay....
They must be making a small fortune on these .30centers...

Now I understand what you were saying. You are absolutely right. They owe me for about 25 relisted auctions that sold second time around since March 14th. That sucks.

I just read this in another post. It is part of an email from Ebay:
"Unfortunately, when relisting an item through an auction assistance
program such as Auctionwatch, the relisting does not always get recorded
onto your account status page as a relisted item and the system has no
way of knowing that the item is a relist and it will not be able to
automatically refund your insertion fee if the item does indeed sell.
The number of relists that go up everyday makes it impossible for us to
process them manually. That is why we came up with this automated
system. We would like to ask you to use the link through eBay to
perform all relistings in order to receive your credits. We apologize
for the inconvenience it does cause, but hope you can understand. As we
cannot guarantee your relistings will be credited when relisting using
Auctionwatch, this is the only alternative.
For this incident, please keep record of which relisted items sell
successfully. You can then send us a list of original items with the
relisted item that sold successfully and we will be happy to review them
for insertion fee credit"

Hi,
This is not an AuctionWatch problem, period. AW uses the same form you would use on their site, it's merely processed in an automated fashion.
"As we cannot guarantee your relistings will be credited when relisting using Auctionwatch, this is the only alternative."
I personally guarantee our system uses this method of relisting, and you therefore should receive credit from eBay. When eBay fixes their problem, it will clear up for AW users as well.
Regards,
Mark

AMEN MARK!
I can tell you personally that it is NOT a problem of using Auctionwatch or Vrane or any other relisting tool to relist.
I manually relisted 3 auctions last night - using Ebay's system - 2 of the 3 should have been eligible for relist credits - but were listed as new auctions - and will have to be tracked manually..
Ebay is trying to push the blame to AW and other services, but the problem is with THEM! Otherwise it would work when relisting manually AND IT DOES NOT!!!

that's been my problem all along...I've been using the eBay manual system to take advantage of the buy it now.
When something with credit has happened in the past, we notify our credit card of the dispute.
When we send to eBay -- nothing happens.
As a suggestion, review your monthly statement, item by item...You might be in for a major surprise...
Anyway, a number of us are holding back on the relists until resolved....

Per Sonny on the DNF chat board the fix is in place - they are working on some sort of retro active fix now.. but I'll be testing this "fix" tonight when my active auctions close.

The nightmarish part of all this is that EBAY REFUSES to post it as a problem on the AB!!
Potentially millions of users are being defrauded and a meer handful will be credited to silence them.
Sounds like Ford Motor Company tactics.
Yes, it is just 30 cents so it sounds like a minor
amount...but when you take 500,000 items relisted (as an example) THAT IS ROBBERY!!

Hi Zeenza,
Trust me! This is one seller that will not be silenced! I may wind NARU, but I will fight this one to the end! However, you might want to purchase stock in companies that manufacture Pepcid and Tylenol!
Now, if anyone uses AuctionAssisant (I think that's the name), or knows someone who has, and has relisted auctions since March 13, will you please email me. Click on my name here for the address.
Well, I have been up all night researching. Time for a little shut-eye. Have a great day all!

I'm really bummed by this. I have other things to do than to go thru and TRY to figure out what's going on with my account and relistings. (And it's not like those account statements are so easy to deal with.)
What's interesting to me is that for a couple of weeks I've been thinking about starting a thread: how closely do you track your ebay statement? Before this I've just paid them, without studying them at all.
It's not like I had such a high opinion of ebay before this, but now I just think they're the scum of the earth. Will I still list there? I dunno. I'm giving Yahoo a try, and will probably try a few others. In my category, I LIKE the new Yahoo. We'll see how sales are.
I think the press ought to be alerted about ebay's little problem that they're not "bothering" to tell their users about. Anyone have any contacts?

I have not been checking my billing statements closely, because like someone already stated...they are not easy to decipher. Anyone else having this insertion fee problem? Think I'll hear back from E-BAy on this?????
