I recently purchased a VHS tape of 3 episodes of a 25 year old TV show on Ebay. Upon viewing the tape, I found the episodes to be copied from LaserDisc(s). I reported my findings to SafeHarbor and was told tough luck. I was encouraged to seek out the copywrite holders and alert them so that they can move to shut down the ongoing auctions. I'm more than willing to "bite the bullet" and accept that I've been deceived, but what about others who will buy these things? The same "rare" tape keeps popping up for sale. Anyone else have similar problems?

I've never experienced the problem myself, but I have noticed recently several bootleg films for sale on eBay. The seller openly states "copied to VHS" or words to that effect. Would've know anyway, though, as to my knowledge these films have never yet been released on video. My own copies are taped off satellite.

I'm surprised SafeHarbor didn't shut your seller down for selling pirated stuff when you brought it to their attention, though.

Go to vsda.org discussion boards. Make a post about it for the MPAA . They monitor the boards.
