I had just checked my PayPal account to make sure a payment was actually in the account beofre shipping it today. It wasn't.

The customer had left one letter out of my e-mail address. I went ahead and registerd the different spelling so that I could claim the money, and if It happened in the future (it is an easy spelling mistake)

Anyhow, when the regristration was complete, there was an "Extra" payment that also appeared.

It was for $22.00 dated 10-31-00! Now, why on Earth dosen't PayPal remind someone? Does anyone else wonder what happens to this unclaimed money if someone like me might not have noticed it for a few months or a year perhaps?

Well, after all I did get the $ so I'm perfectly happy, but it is a good time to remind people to Check your PayPal account before shipping.

I lost $45 because I didn't do just that - so now I verify every single payment prior to shipping..

I think under their new policy - payments left unclaimed for 30 days are reverted back to sender or something like that...

I believe the old policy was 180 days. SO, that 10/31 payment would have been returned near the end of April.
