I charge for the 35.00 that my bank charges me. Thankfully, so far I've only had one and she paid for the item + fees. I know I've been very lucky.

$35? Sounds like time to find a new bank. My bank charges $8. This is only after they have automatically redeposited the check and it comes back a second time. I don't like to get greedy and only ask for my exact service fee back. The more of a fee you ask for, the more likely you won't get anything back.

My bank doesn't charge me anything on returned checks.(I have been lucky, only had one) They just take it straight out of my account and tell me it is up to me to collect!
