There is an auction I am really interesed in bidding on but the seller is in Germany. The auction is listed as selling internationally but I've had to use a translator to find out what was written since the ad is written in German.
My question is has anyone ever dealt with a seller from Germany? I've done some international transactions - but as the seller. Any pitfalls (like how long it takes to receive your items or the language barrier)? I would like any advice before I place a bid - thanks!

I've had very good luck with German eBayers. Most Germans speak some English, so that has never been a problem. Usually takes 10 to 14 days to receive items. How is their feedback ?

They have 13 unique & 23 overall feedback comments - all positive. I was a bit worried about the post - I thought it would take much longer than that. 10 to 14 days isn't bad at all. Thanks!

Hi,
I have purchased things from German sellers before and all the transactions have gone smoothly. The items were usually about 1-2 pounds and they arrived in 2-3 weeks. The transactions were all done in English. I do speak German but I only had to deal with sellers who sell a lot of items to the US.
Good Luck!

German sellers are great.
Chances are they speak english as well as, if not better, than we do.
I have purchased somewhat medium ticket items: $300 - $900 with no problem.

Well, considering that English is a forced class (at least in the Oberschule and Gymnasium), there is a pretty good chance that he speaks English (or understands it enough).
Do not attempt a Babel Fish translation when speaking to him. It will only make you look like an ass 0_o
