Yesterday our ebay account received a strange e-mail. It was entitled "Your A**es". The only line of the message was:

I know what you are doing and you won't get away with it! Hahaha...

Does anyone have any idea what this Crazy is talking about?!?! (we follow e-bay rules very carefully!) We checked, and his e-mail address is a user ID on ebay with zero feedback (also it's a hotmail address). What actions should we take? If I am correct, the vulgarity in the heading alone should be enough to send to SafeHarbor... not to mention the threat! What would you do? Your advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Technically, safeharbor does NOT deal with profanities in email, they say to contact the sender's ISP. They will respond to threats, but I'm not sure i see one of those in there.

Your options:
1. ignore it
2. respond back very directly and without emotion "I don't know what you are talking about, but if you bother me again, I'll report you to your ISP/the police/ebay/etc"

forward the eMail to [email protected]

don't respond to the sender.... just ignore them for now.

keep an eye on the bidding patterns of folks bidding on your auctions for any suspicious behavior...

hope this threatening member just gets bored and moves on...

I got some email like that about a year ago. I paused long enough to wonder how my ex was doing and moved on. My action was to ignore it and this is the first time I've thought about it since.

::: I wonder who she's tormenting now:::
