I'm currently selling magic: the gathering cards and I'm interested if anybody else sells these cards. What are some tricks, ideas that can make my auctions better. Is it wise to buy a box at wholesale, open it and sell off the cards or does that not make a profit? Just checking. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with Magic cards, but I can tell you that is exactly what I do with Pokemon cards - and it does work. I keep what I need out of the box, and sell the rest - usually I have multiple boxes and combine cards to complete sets of cards to sell, and they bring good prices.
I also like trading with other Pokemon collectors - this helps me get the cards I need as well as finish more sets to put up for sale.

Unles your selling off your personal collection, I do not recommend opening boxes of boosters to sell them individually. You will not make a decent profit.
If you owned a gaming store, this would be a different story, but the Magic market on eBay is very competitive and the prices on single cards are very low.
Last year I bought a lot of 10,000 MTG cards on eBay for $50.00, to sell them at my store, just so you get a glimpse of the ebay prices.
