I filed for a Final Value Fee Credit Request Form yesterday on an item that closed on the 26th of February. Today I get an email from this person that she sent a money order out today for that item. I need some advice on how to handle this. Should I just return the money, or should I contact ebay and tell them, or what are my options?

Cash it, wait a month, then send him a personal check. Tell him if he read your TOS he would have known how you treat deadbeats. LOL

What kind of mood are you in? If you want you can wait some more, But myself I would of relisted the Item by now. Why waste money on sending their money order back? Just tell them you will destroy It. Move on. Do not forget they may be piling up a few npb points by now.

I'm in no hurry as far as relisting. I just threw them in the pile of other no pay stuff so far. I still have plenty of items that I'm still trying to get on the first time around. I was just wondering about defrauding Ebay.

Don't destroy the money order! If you do not wish to sell the item, just refuse it when you receive it.

Don't open the envelope and mark "refused" on the envelope and put it back out in the mail. It will be returned to the sender if their address is on the outside. If the addy isn't on the outside, then you will have to get the addy to return it.

Losing your mind is okay, but when the voices in your head get quiet, it is like losing your best friend.

Now that she gave you the heads up that you will be receiving the MO I would do exactly what toollady suggested.

===============

You know, this whole FVF drill is becoming quite predictable.

I’ve been on ebay for over three years and have made a couple thousand sales. I have had a few bidders that didn’t complete auctions, but within the past three months I have had more than in the previous three years.

I send the EOA notice – no response.

I send the first reminder – no response.

I send the second reminder – no response.

I file the NPB alert – no response.

I file for FVF and I get a weepy e-mail asking me to look at their stellar feedback and offering to pay double and let me keep the item (or some such nonsense) if only I will contact ebay and let them know it was all a mistake.

So... after sending all this e-mail and following up on this non-communicative deadbeat I’m expected to become further embroiled in their problems? Don’t think so!

Yes, Better to just refuse the letter.

Once you file for your fees, The deal Is over. The odds of said m.o. showing up Is slim at best. But do what you feel Is right for you.

I think everyone has to decide how they want to handle situations like these on a case by case basis.

Personally, I wait over 21-25 days on average before I file an NPB, but once I do, you can send money until the cows come home but you are just going to get it right back.

I've had people saying they were going to send $$$ after the NPB was filed, even had a few send it despite me telling them not to, that the item had already been relisted. But I just return their money.

Huh

Why wouldn't you just sell him the item???

It's just sitting there, and you get a money order why not sell it to him??

Happens to me all the time. If I have the item I sell it.

But if I sell it to her anyway, dont' I need to notify Ebay about the credit I requested? Just trying to keep from being suspended.

Have had that happen to me a few times, if I haven't relisted the item, I would send the item out. Then contact ebay through there customer sevice form and let them know. They will remove the blackmark from the persons record, and recharge the fees to you. That's it, no problems.
They may have had a good reason why the payment was late, I tend to give the benefit of the doubt - if I have the item still.
I don't wait upon them, just sometimes don't get around to the relist until later.
