I just saw on ebay that they are promoting a postage meter. I sell about 4-5 items a week thru ebay and a few other auctions and I was thinking this may save me some time. Does anyone use a postage meter and particularly the Simply Postage brand one ebay is promoting? Are they worth it?
thanks

glad I saw this post, we have simply postage meter 9.99 a month each sticker you print on is .04 if you by in volume really the cheapest deal I've ever found and the postage to have the stickers sent to you. but like I said I'm glad I saw this post it got me to really thinking it's time to send it back.
it all sounds good, it's going to save you a bunch of time right? well not really
do you drop your stuff at the post office when you ship?? so is it really any harder to pick up the stamps you'll need for the next time you ship or for the next week?? not really.
is it cheaper to use a meter? NO!! when I first started I thought I needed all the bells and whistles. I bough a Pitney Bowes machine they charge you 19.99 every time you charge the meter so are you going to by the postage you need or are you going to buy all the postage you can load into the meter?
we ship about 300 packages a week through USPS and we use stamps, I can have the stamps on package before the meter can print out the postage. I've bought items from other powersellers to test and see how they handle their business and everyone that I have ever bought from use stamps.
the only exception that I can see is if you do enough to manifest your shipping, in that case you can get some free delivery confirmation, and a reduced insurance cost but you'll have to upload all this electronically to the post office and usually give them a check when you ship.
