Just wanted to know if anyone has used this service from Ebay and what you think of it.

Don't think about it! It's very buggy at best and all the support boards are filled with complaints. I have it and it does not work properly. I cannot get any decent support for the issues I am having.

I have it & it has worked wonderfully. A very nice improvement over their previous product, Auction Assistant.

The few problems I've had have either been resolved with one of their upgrades or was my mistake from the start.

I have it and although there are bugs they are slowly getting rid of them with patches. I
run 100+ auctions at all times and wouldn't be without it.

It is expensive at $15.99 per month but I see it as one sale paying for the monthly
premium. That's a small price to pay for how easy it has made launching and managing
auction.

I wouldn't be without it. Of course you can only use it on eBay.

As far as the bugs go, all auction programs have them.

I am using basic and the winning bidder never gets the email notice. It says the mail was sent but it never gets there. I have used AA Classic for 3 years without any problems and Blackthorne was always there when I had a question. I posted my problem on the eBay board and there reply was that I probably did not enter the mail server correctly. I even stated that when I perform the "Test Mail Server" that it comes back as OK.

Very strange. Mine are getting through to winning bidders just fine.

A couple of things to check (though you've probably already done so),

Look at your old AA & see if you mail server is the same as the one you are using on SAB.

Check on your automated info & make sure you are using the same return email address as your ebay address.

Also, have you downloaded all the latest patches?

Actually on the email problem, one of the biggest mistakes is incompatibility between the mail server & the email address. Make sure you are using the correct mail server for your email address.

thepriest,

From my friends who use it, it appears more of the problems are in the PRO version rather than basic.

I'm using basic & having zero problems loading auctions or contacting customers. There IS an odd unsolved glitch when I refresh all my auctions but it's only a momentary problem & it does refresh them.

Now the pro folks seems to be having some major issues, even those who were former Auction Assistant Pro users.

If you are low volume (less than 20 items a week) look into Basic.
Pro has some bugs, but most of the problems
users are experiencing are self-generated.
Pro is a robust program with lots of features and people are not taking the time to LEARN the program. Hence the "problems."

The program is a memory hog, but if a user has lots of programs running, or lots of programs in their Startup menu, they should EXPECT resource problems.

Overall, Pro is the way to go. A fantastic tool that saves me HOURS a week.

I got the latest patch for Basic last week as mentioned in a previous post and it is working fine for me now. The only thing that I do not like is that it posts the auction without showing the eBay confirmation screen or fees.

ibuypaper,

I run about 100+ a week but still use the basic..the new upload all at once feature works great.

marcn,

Glad to hear you got the problems straightened out.

I have to agree, I kind of miss seeing the confirmation screen where I used to occasionally catch errors..harder to catch those incorrect categories or text in the new way.
