when I tried to search completed auctions today.

I hit the "search completed auctions" link and got the message:

"Netscape cannot locate the server 'search-completed.ebay.aol.com'"

What does AOL have to do with it?

It seems to be working now, but that was STRANGE.

I've seen this happen before. I've gotten error messages with "aol" in them. I also logged into eBay before and had an "AOL" logo at the top of the screen! Nobody at eBay ever responded to my questions about it. It has happened more than once, too.

Try going to http://www.ebay.aol.com/
It looks like a co-branding that AOL is doing with Ebay to get the AOL name all over the page not just banner ads. It is just advertising and if you go to http://www.ebay.com you get it just like you used to. They seem to have put the www.ebay.aol.com link anytime you click on the ebay logo.

Thanks. It was really strange, because I started on the Ebay.com site, and all of a sudden, there was AOL.

I did not like it, personally. I had to start over at Ebay.com, start the search all over again just to find a working link!!
