Hi,
A few months ago I had a CHRONIC Bad bidder. I have tracked her through many a different User IDs and have left negatives everytime she dinged out on auctions. This last time I was doing a fund raiser auction and she bid on an item. I emailed her asking that she not bid on these items since she has such a bad history of payment. She immediately came back with another User ID. I told her I recognized that ID also and to please not bid on these items. Well, to make a long story short, she tried with 4 different IDs and finally I let one ride. Of course she did not pay for the auction. I left negative feedback:

Complaint: A fundraising auction, many promises to pay, a deadbeat bidder. How sad is that?

She left a response:

Response: When auction ended, I was moving..computer down almost 4 wks..Sorry

Is there any way to leave a response to hers? Mind you, the auction number does not show up in the system now since it closed in November. She is using this ID again so I would like to clarify that she still has not been in touch with us.

Thanks!
Carol

Hi Carol!
What an ugly thing to do ~ especially to a charity!
From the best of my recollection, you have two ways to get in to respond ~ no time limit, either!
If you do not have a lot of transactions (although it sounds like you do!) You can go into Feedback Forum, use Feedback Forum, click on comments I have left, click on the little envelope to reply. This can be a BIG PAIN if you've got a lot of transactions!
Option #2 is to use vrane (www.vrane.com), go to easy feedback, enter your ID in the sections "all negatives left by a user" ~ since most DB's don't respond to their neg (they just quietly reincarnate *sigh*), you should be able to narrow it down relatively quickly by looking for the neg that was responded to.
I used "not so newbie" terminology ~ hope it makes sense ~ WAAAAY too much coffee today!
A Big Thanks for bothering with this ~ we appreciate the warning for this "shame on you schizophrenic DeadBeat"!

Good Luck!

Thank You Zoomin!

I went through the Feedback Forum way and it worked great!

My reply:
Follow-up: Stop with the stories! You know how to get in touch with YOUR club, just Call!

Pretty sad that she is even a member of the club that was doing the fundraising. She knows how to get in touch with the treasurer who used to be a friend of hers. I am so tired of dealing with her on Ebay. I feel sorry for the other sellers she is messing with. She does such a believable sad story with many promises to pay. I know of 6 names she has bid under. Of course several of them are now NARU so she will probably come out with new ones just in time for our next fund raiser in July.

Thanks again!
Carol

So glad it worked for you!
You are Very Welcome!
I'm sorry this nuisance likes your goodies so much. I wish I could tell you how to make her go away! NPB's aren't fun. NPB's that play on your sympathy like this one does? She deserves to have her sad stories come true! The caffeine must be wearing off ~ I'm getting cranky and mean. sorry!
Have you sent any of the info to eBay?
Maybe with that many ID's, they can block her identity from registering?
just a thought...

I did send all the IDs to Ebay months ago and they said there wasn't enough information to make the connection and suspend the user or some such thing. At any rate, I am usually able to track her IDs down since she has a habit of bidding on the same types of items and they are a fairly unusual combination of items. It doesn't take long for her to go NARU since she only pays for about 1 in 10-15 items. Unfortunately it takes at least a dozen bad transactions before sellers start leaving the negs. Once she gets one negative the other sellers start to chime in and she is out of there. If more sellers would bite the bullet and leave that first neg she wouldn't be able to bid on so many items. I know, I do understand about giving what appears to be a new bidder the benefit of the doubt it is just that I just get so frustrated with chronic bad bidders.

Thanks again!
Carol

You are Very Welcome! I get frustrated with the DB's, too. I'm a big fan of filing NPB's and FVF's. Hopefully enough people will get on the bandwagon about all of these DB reincarnated identities and eBay will take a stand. Social Security number registration should help.
You shouldn't have to play private detective with your bids ~ I'm glad you're so good at it!
Thanks again for looking out for your fellow eBayers!
