Amazon already owns Bibliofind, but as of May there will no longer be a separate Bibliofind site, apparently. The items will be merged into the Amazon database either under Marketplace or zShops. The "free" Bibliofind didn't last long. As I read it, you'll have to pay zShops fees to maintain inventory. I posted a question in the Amazon list about this, because I have been using Bibliofind to sell ARC's, and they aren't allowed on Marketplace.
Sorry to see more merging of venues going on.

I'm disappointed...I love to browse and buy at Bibliofind!

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel all I do is move books from one location to another as things keep changing. Wish I could find a good place to park them, at least for a little while. How well are things going to be selling on Amazon Marketplace when all the Bibliofind books are listed there?

Unless Amazon finds a MUCH better way of listing antiquarian, older and out-of-print books, I doubt that most of the established Bibliofind sellers will make the jump to Marketplace or zshops. And I doubt they'd be willing to pay Amazon's high fees for the privilege. I guess most of them will stay on ABE, and whatever comes along. Book Avenue was looking promising there for a while, but for some reason they withdrew from Addall, so I won't even consider using them now.

If you go to Bibliofind's page and click on the link to join the service as a bookseller, this is the message you get:
"We're sorry, but Bibliofind is not accepting new members." I wonder if the folks at ABE are happy? There was quite some nastiness between the owners of ABE and Bibliofind back a couple of years.

And Spamzon has already started spamming every address they can dredge from the Bibliofind databases
They just hit me with an ad, despite Bibliofind's promises to NEVER do it again afterh I flamed them the first time.

I just got the email. I never listed on Bibliofind, but I had bought through them several times. I had a funny feeling when they became "free" that such a scenario would not last very long--it was just about the time I had given serious consideration to listing there.

The reason Bookavenue withdrew from Addall was the Addall started requiring the smaller sites to pay a commission. It is just like why the smaller auction sites are not on the Auction Watch search engine.

This blows. First Alibris ate up Bibliocities, now Bibliofind is gone. Enjoy ABE while it lasts. It's only a matter of time till we lose that one too.

Alibris doesn't have a monthly fee--but the charge 20 percent....but they give you a good shipping fee per book---and you mail them to Alibris/ not the customer.
So if you have 4 books to be shipped --you get the same amount of shipping for each book and it all goes in one box and you earn back some of your percentage that way.

Every time I go to list a book on Amazon Marketplace these days I find Alibris has at least 3 copies already listed. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when the Bibliofind listings land there. It's getting harder and harder to sell books.

A pox on Alibris. Twenty percent surcharge for doing NOTHING. I'm sure that 20% must be hurting sellers who list with them. If you're smart, you check Bibliofind or ABE before placing an order through Alibris because often you can find the exact same book on those sites and you can buy it directly from the seller without paying Alibris' criminal surcharge.

depends on how fast you want to move them...Bookopoly only charges when you sell, but things can sit there an awfully long time...
lovedstuff.com is a new site - no fees at all, but I don't know what the traffic there is like.

Alibris does not give a shipping fee reimbursement (except possibly for foreign dealers). What they do is send out Merchandise Return Labels addressed to them in Nevada. You stick one on and pay no postage. Alibris then pays the Post Office when it receives the package.
