i have a Precious Moments "Make a Joyful Noise" from 1978 E1374/G. Mine has the girl and goose but it also has 2 baby geese standing on the bottom by the girl and goose. I haven't seen one like this on ebay and wondering if I might have something here. anyone know where to look for information?

Hi, I don't know anything about Precious Moments, but your question aroused my curiosity. I checked out a few of the auctions, and one of them had a reference to a "Greenbook Guide to Precious Moments Figurines." There aren't any current auctions for the guide, but do a search of closed auctions under "Greenbook Precious" and you'll find a number of them. It looks like the 14th edition is the most recent. If you only have this one figurine and don't want to buy the book, search current auctions under the description (to see who refers to the book), and use the "ask seller a question" feature to see if one of them will help you. If that doesn't work, perhaps your library has a copy.

ddhafe - On PM porcelain figurines (not plates, plaque, ornaments, etc.) there are 'marks' on the bottom. The 1978 means the first year these were made, not which year the one you have was made in. Just that this figurine has been produced since 1978.
Look on the bottom and tell me what kind of a 'mark' you see. If this piece was made between 1978 until 1981, it won't have a mark, but I doubt it was (because of the 2 extra geese). After that they started putting marks on them. Marks are like a triangle, hourglass, fish, cross, dove, olive branch, cedar tree, flower, bow & arrow, flame, vessel, G-clef, butterfly, trumpet, ship, heart and so on.
Then this figurine should also say (on it's bottom) "J & D" or c. 1978 Jonathan & David Lic. Enesco Imports. The ones made prior to 1996 did not have the little baby geese you speak of.
My question to you would be, is the figurine you have printed with the E1374G on it, or did you just find that # somewhere and it almost looks like yours?
Since it has the x-tra two baby geese, it's either a new release from Precious Moments where they remake the same 'named' figurine but with minor changes, or it's a 'look-a-like'. That's why I asked what the bottom has printed on it.

Precious moments...shudder. I had one unfortunate incident with one. My gramma gave this dumb little plastic PM to my daughter when she was about two years old. I was trying to reduce the size of the toy sprawl one day and knelt down on the floor, landing will my full weight on one knee right on top of the dumb thing. Precious is not exactly the choice of words I used while laying there writhing in pain.
