I had an auction end at $51 ... the buyer sent a personal check, and we, as usual, deposited the check, and sent the item on its merry way .......... [we're a tad more wary of these now, depending on the price]... we just don't have room to hold packages for 10 business days check clearances for all of our items] .... also, we had left his positive feedback when we received payment .... after a few months of excuses/broken promises, etc. to make good on the bad check, I told the guy that my family and friends suggested I contact his local police department and simply file a 'complaint' that he had passed an NSF check ... not file 'charges', just a complaint to make it of record ... went on to tell him that i was pretty sure that that is at least a 4th degree felony in most states and that i hoped it wouldn't have to come to that [filing complaint] ........ he then sent 'good money' within a week ... just wanted to tell my little story in case it's anything other people can use later ... do you have an NSF matter that worked or didn't work for you too? --- Marcia in Ohio
