I bought something from a seller and I've already received it. I just now got something in the mail from this seller and I never even bid on this auction. I already opened it, so I would have to pay shipping to send it back to him. I am planning on e-mailing it through ebay (I no longer have his info since I received my purchase) and tell him that he needs to pay me shipping to get it back so that he can send it to the right person.

I'm sorry, Redskinfan, but you have met your personal quota of weirdos and goofs from EBAY (in case you-know-who is reading) and if you want to deal with any more weirdos and/or goofs this month, you'll have to upgrade to the Premier Plan, also known as the EG Plan.

Seriously, though, I'm sure the Seller will be grateful to you for catching their mistake. Paying you to ship it to the correct customer would be cheaper for him/her than refunding the other customer when the package doesn't arrive. Lucky to be dealing with someone honest like you!

YIKES! Was it one of mine??

From time to time those senior moments kick in & I've accidentally mailed the wrong item to the wrong person. Did it twice during the Christmas madness..a new personal best!

Mercifully in every case, the person has been willing to forward it on to the actual person it belongs to.

In those cases, I've always immediately sent money to the person who forwarded it for me (thereby saving my worthless hide from an irate customer) AND sent along a thank you gift as well.

You might want to check w/the seller first & see if they would like you to forward it on to the correct party (again..it might save their butt). I hope they will quickly compensate you for doing this on their behalf.

Come on folks, it's not hard to be nice. Everybody screws up now and then. Cut the seller a little slack and send it on to the rightful owner out of the kindness of your heart. If you live by the Golden Rule you'll have few regrets and life will always seem sweeter.

He asked if I could Just re-pack, priority tape it again and forward it on. he pay palled me the money it was $8.00 and change a couple days later I received a lovely cndle and card, thanking me. I wrote and thanked him and he told me that time was of the essence and he really appreciated it. He was just so happy that I happened to be a seller also.

I mailed a vintage I LOVE LUCY Game to THE home office of my healthcare provider. To my shock, as I was having a major dispute with them they called me and offered to forward it on to the correct recipient. They still have not paid the disputed claim. I was so embarressed to have to email my customer and tell him of the delay, even though he was extremely understanding. Just one more illustration of what STRESS can do.

I have received the wrong item twice. The first time I let the seller know. I offered to forward it to the correct person. Then, I get an email from the seller saying the person received the item saying it was broken, and she asked ME if I packed it correctly! Same thing the second time, but it arrived to it's rightful owner in one piece. Mistakes happen, I haven't done it YET, but tommorrow is a new day...

I have been on both ends of this one. I have shipped to the wrong address and was very grateful to a customer who forwarded a valuable item to the correct recipient. I also recieve the wrong item and forwarded to the correct buyer.

What goes around comes around.

My sister, another ebay seller, accidentally sent the wrong mcdonald toy to a buyer. She caught the mistake the next day, before the buyer got the item. She emailed him and asked him not to open the box, just refuse it and it would return to her. The buyer chose to open it (she thinks to see if it was worth keeping) and then placed it in a manilla envelope, no padding, and returned it to her. It arrived broken. Then he emailed her and wanted a refund on the 55 cent postage.

this seller e-mails me back and tells me to keep it that he's got lots of them and he'll just send out another one. I don't even know what the hell it is! Some days I wish I had a scanner.....lol

I guess I'll give it to my dad....he does have a birthday coming up.
