Missed having my packing done in time to make the local Post Office yesterday.

I had promised to get some things into the mail and used the the fortunate option I have of driving to a near-by regional PO that is open until mid-night.

It was surprisingly busy with long lines and that led to a discussion with the person behind me. Seems it might be taxes w/certified mail etc.

We both agreed it is usually not crowded and we both come often at that time. Well you know the rest of that conversation. eBay sellers.

So we start talking eBay when the guy in front of me turns aruond and joins in. He does books, they do a range of products, we all share the same gripes and they all visit here.

After a few minutes of animated conversation I notice out of the corner of my eye that we had an intent audience. No one else spoke up but alot of people continued to listen.

I've met eBay sellers at the PO before but four strangers in a row waiting in line at a crowded regional PO was a first for me. And more lurking around us.

Nice, friendly, helpful and encouraging people, as I've come to know and expect of eBay sellers, staff and buyers.

I'll stop posting now before I start mentioning Queen Meg and turn a positive thread negative.

I too have met quite a few ebay sellers in the postal line! We exchange ebay names and find out what each sells. The ones that listen I have found are usually the buyers, or interested enough to become buyers...so I make sure not to say too much negative. One seller comes everyday at 4:30 with at least 4 dollies of packages. She's good. Has all of her confirmations filled out and labels up. Others in line (not ebay sellers) get upset having to wait for her to finish.

I haven't yet met another ebayer at my PO. Of course I live in a rural area, the PO only services 250 people, not houses, people. Never have to wait, know the Postmaster personnally, show up in the early afternoon and no one is there. A great situation.

As a note, when I moved to town and started selling on ebay and not just buying, I singlehandedly increased my PO's outgoing packages by 75% a week.

I was in line behind somebody yesterday who I am sure was an eBay seller. She had a big box filled with priority tyvek envelopes, and was holding up the line while she wrote out D.C. tags and applied them to the packages. Her darling daughter was darting in and out of the P.O. while mom frantically worked and kicked her box ahead of her in line. Every time she finished with one package, she smashed it back into the box and pulled out another one. These must have been clothing or some other soft item--I hope! I was really tempted to ask her if she was on eBay, but she looked so sour and frantic that I was afraid to interrupt.

I've yet to actually get up the courage to ask somebody if that's why they were in line with 20 priority packages...but nobody ever asked me, either.

I've had people running in the parking lot to get in line before me I had to laugh at the one lady. I would have let her go infront of me anyway. She had one little envelope, and needed a stamp. I had 10 packages.

Depending on my mood, and the way the other people act, I can derive great pleasure from beating people to the line.

Say, Micheneraddict: Have you read Michener's autobiography? (I forget the name; it's buried in a pile of unread books up in the bedroom.) I bought it at a garage sale but haven't read it yet. If you have, is it worth reading? ~Adele

Two guys who work at the counter of my PO are Ebay Bidders, they are always asking for tips.
One lady who works there sends her requests for vintage jewelry and I sell to her a good prices.
This makes for easy times when I file an insurance claim or have 50 packages.
They actually like when I come as they say it gives them a break from the customers and a great chat session.
