Hi all -

I sold 4 books in a series to a buyer in Mexico. The box weighs just a hair over 7 lbs. He now wants to buy 11 more of the books [I obtained a stack of them].

I would be nervous about mailing anything that heavy even within the US, let alone to Mexico. He wants a quote for ground shipping.

Would you, in this case, set a limit on the number of books you would mail in a carton? Take them to a packaging center and have them package the books securely [do those places give a guarantee?]? Just do your best and hope for the best?

thanks for any advice -

Look into the "bag" thingey.

I clearly have never used it and that service might not be available to Mexico.

But I have seen people mention heavy shipments of books wrapped and then put into a PO special shipping bag at really low rates.

Maybe somebody will show up that actually knows what they are talking about and can help.

M-Bag

Go to the USPS International Rate calculator.

Select volume shipping
Enter country
select M-bags
select Economy M-Bags
Add at least one piece with weight
Note you can usually do one parcel with all books in it. So number of pieces is 1 with gross rate.

You should than click on "OK that's all"

I think you can take it from there.
