I am trying to resize my pictures and would like input on the size of this picture. It is 420x300? Should it be even smaller? I am using fujifilm eztouch software.

Are you talking about for auction use?
This is probably a bit larger (640 X 480) than you need- although it will fit on most user's screens just fine.
The file size, 60K, is a bit large, and will load somewhat slowly on the screen for dial up users. Sugggest you:
1. Resize to about 70 or 80% of original using your photo software, keeping aspect ratios the same. This will reduce file size by about 30%, as well.
2. When you "save as," in your options or preferences, set the compression (also called quality) to 40% or so- this will further reduce file size down to a more manageable 20K or so- and greatly speed loading without any significant reduction in qualtiy for monitor viewing.

Steve, thank you for the reply. Eztouch does not give me the % choice. It lets you change file size and you can type in what you want. This one is 460 x 380.

This is 50% of the original resized perserving the aspect ratio, and color corrected within the limits of the original image.
The original is 96 ppi. You can get a smaller image with greater depth by increasing the ppi. I use 300 or 600.
The $%^& UBB won't work.

rarriffle -- I like the size you posted of 460 x 380. I use approximately that size on my auctions, I find the file size is usually about 30-50kb or so. It's a good size for the auction, and I don't think it loads too slow. Perfect!

There is a program called WebGraphics Optimizer that is available for download. It is shareware, but if you do a lot of graphics work it is worth the purchase price and then some. Though you don't HAVE to purchase it, but I did.
download.com has it, so do a lot of other sites.
What is so great about it is its EASE of use and how it can shrink graphics down to the smallest size possible WITHOUT losing image quality. I have tried over 20 different programs from high end (photoshop) to the freeware stuff, and NOTHING comes close to optimizing graphics better. I often get 320 x 320 graphics down to 8k to 10k, and perhaps the largest at about 30k.
Well worth looking into. NO I do not work for them, or sell the product. I just use it. If AW feels this is a promotion keep in mind that shrinking graphics down to a smaller size benefits AW more.
I use illustrator 9 and photoshop to create and edit my pictures. Then, once finished, I take them over to WebGraphics Optimizer and shrink them to very small sizes. WORKS GREAT!

Here is the link directly to their website. Again, I have tested tons of programs in hopes of finding a good optimizer and this one has won hands down.
http://www.webopt.com/
Download: WebGraphics Optimizer 4.2 (standard)
You only need the standard and not the PRO. The PRO allows for what is called "batch" optimization. This option allows for you to take hundreds (sometimes thousands) of images and shrink them all in an automated process instead of doing each one yourself. That option alone is why I bought the pro version as I process perhaps 5000 images per week.
This program is good for any web designer (mostly my job) and for auction picture shrinking. It will certainly take a load off AW and your download/upload time. It also won the ZDNET Editors choice award.
Again, not trying to make this sound like a plug, because I am not in anyway connected with the maker of the program. I am just trying to save people some time here and not go through what I have had to go through just to find a decent program.
OH! Unlike web-based and other programs, this one is FASSSSTT!
