Anyone else still getting eBay's marketing spam, even though they know their preferences indicate they do *not* want this junk email? After eBay's little "glitch" several months ago, where they changed some long-time users' email preferences, I immediately changed mine back to indicate I wanted no such promotional and marketing spam. At that time, the page on which I changed my preferences said it might take up to 14 days for my "new" preferences to take effect. Well, here it is, months and months later, and I'm still getting spam! I just went and re-checked my preferences, and they are still correct - they indicate I do not want this junk email. This is so annoying!

Same old line from eBay. I got the marketing spam yesterday. I immediately checked my preferences: EVERYTHING except for listing confirmations was set to NO.

Their email said "if you don't want this, then asked to be removed" or something to that effect. I emailed timesensitive and asked what SPAM meant and what NO meant.

They emailed back and said "we reset your preferences so this won't happen again" and I emailed and asked how they reset something that was already set to NO.

No response to date!

I got that spam, too. After I heard that they were "accidentally" changing user preferences, I checked mine and they were all still set to "No" except for the bid notices, which I chose to receive. When I got the spam, I checked again... and they were STILL all set to "No." So I reported the spam via Spam Cop. If it happens again I'll report them to a higher authority.

They nailed me too ... preferences still say "No promotional spam".

They ignore them when it is in their $$$$ interest to. And all they have to do is query the database and IGNORE that field in the query to get a list to spam to.

One wonders why they bother to go through with the sham.

Mine is and always has been set for no spam, and I never get ANY mail from them (except their bill of course)
