I did something really dumb. I had an electronic check before, and it went thru fine, when I got the notification, the buyer sent his address,and I sent it out.
I had one last week, pending to have the check clear. It did seem to take much longer than the other. Well notice from Billpoint came to me, and said that check was submitted and insufficient funds or whatever, the check did not go thru.
I had sent the item out, should have known better, the guy emailed me from a different email than the one from ebay with his address. I've never held personal checks sent to me in the mail.
I looked at his bidding history and he had bids for $2-300 items.
I even gave him positive feedback.
I guess this is lesson learned. I just hate to wait the 4-5 days that Billpoint tells you to do, but in this case, they were right.
Do not send items out before any e check has cleared. Unless its a repeat bidder, probably would be ok.
