I have some cardboard display unit that were at retail stores. Can I sell them on ebay? or is there some rule or something that will get me in trouble.
Please give me your opinions.
Thanks.
I will attempt to get the pictures here.
That did not work. I have the pictures in auction watch. How how I get them here?

RichieRich,
To post a pic from AuctionWatch hosting, use this path without the $'s
[$img]http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/ri/richyrich/nameofimage.jpg[$/img]
This assumes your images are in an account called RichieRich.
Hope this helps,

There is always a secret or unfindable rule that ebay can pull out if it wants to.

Richie,
This board is ubb not html...
These are the URLS that you have listed. Is it possible that your pics are not hosted at AuctionWatch? If they are not, just pull up the pic and copy the URL and paste it.

Ebay does not self-monitor anyway. Only way you'll get in trouble (if there is anything to get in trouble for) is if someone reports you.

I don't think that Pooh or Pokemon stuff is in VERO judging by the volumes of those items for sale. Go for it! Good luck!
Bet you get a nice price on the Pokemon!
(those caps in the URL make ALL the differnce! )

I thought I heard or read somewhere that you can not sell promotional type items on ebay.
I can not find these two items on ebay but I did find a subcategory for standees, which is what I would consider these to be.

"I thought I heard or read somewhere that you can not sell promotional type items on ebay."
I'm pretty sure you can, because eBay has an advertising subcategory under collectibles. I've sold a couple of cigarette displays also, and no one's complained to eBay and had the auctions yanked.
Good luck, they're great looking!

you most definetly can sell those on ebay and you will do very very well. i predict atleast 40 bucks for each if not more it the timing is right.....................i sell those type items weekly and have been doing so for over 4 years........making friends with the video store folks and grocery people can bring in some great items that bring big big bucks, considering what it is and what it costs, i.e..nothing...........let usknow howwell you do.....list without fear!!!!!!!

Out of curiosity, how should RichieRich ship them?
They look kind of awkward to ship since they appear to be rather long. And cardboard isn't terribly sturdy, so it would require a very strong stiff box, I think.
Very interesting items. I had never paid much attention to this type of cut-out display pieces before. Good luck to you, RichieRich!

They look awkward but I do not think it should be that bad to ship. They each fold it half. I know it would be a lot easier if I had the box they came but I do not.
But any shipping suggestions would be great.
As for a category - I was thinking Movies, Memorabilia, Movie, Standees for the Tigger Movie one.
Not really sure where Pokemon would best be seen. Any ideas?

I am also the MASTER packer of the stand up and cardboard advertising items like those..........Shipping priority mail or ups is up to you but for the larger items i ship ups.....heres my nearly damage proof method, tested well over 400 times.......
use priority boxes no matter if shipping usps or ups........
you will be double boxing the item using flat priority bixes.start with box number 1097 or its larger sister box(the rectangle ones you see at the p.o)....keeping them flat, slit one long side so it is hinged and can open up. go around the edges of all 4 sides of the item you are packing, inserting it into the middle of the hinged, slit box. overlap these about 50% all the way around. use the free priority tape and securely tape these together, pieceing them if you will.the overlaping and good taping makes this very sturdy. Now tape the edges closed too.........on top of that take the same boxes or use the thicker corrugated box 7. these can only be ordered online or by phone, i have not seem them at many p.offices, i was told it was an order item only.....anyway take that box and do the exact same thing as the before. this will give you 2 layers, overlaped and taped up. VERY RIGID and can take abuse. I also extend out on the edges and extrea half inch on the outside layer so it will have ding space before it hgits the bottom layer around the item. if shipping UPS just turn the outside layer of the priority boxes inside out so the brown is showing, these are not stamped like the video boxes on the inside.......use the free priority tape to secure it all then if shipping ups just put 1 layer of brown packing tape over the priority tape so it will pass ups inspection........this works great. i have had only 1 or 2 items get bent using this method......i have shipped dozens and dozens stand up like this ....it works it you just take liberal use of the free tape and boxes.......if shipping ups and the item is oversized don't worry about the extra weight because there is a 35# minimum charge on oversized items......
when i list thete items i usually quote $15 ups shipping for stand ups and items that size. i also state if actual shipping is more than $1 less than 15 i will refund the difference.............
i hope this help all who shhiplarge items and fret over boxes etc...........priority boxes are the best!!!!! ya just have to use your imagination!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you want for it? If the price is right, I'll buy it and put it on eBay.... Never sold Pokemon stuff on ebay (My kids want me to BUY Charzard...) but I'd give it shot.

I receive standees like those regularly - always from UPS.
I have two of the Pokemon packs - but they are complete with the promo card packs and other advertising information. I have been hoping a new Pokemon movie will come out soon ...
The standees will come apart easily and can then be shipped flat. You might want to mark in pencil letters on each piece where they are connected - or the original instructions if you are so lucky.

I don't sell items like this but in the PEZ catagory they sometimes sell them. They should be quite collectable. How do you mail them? or do you deliver?

"Do I deliver?" Well if it's in the Denver metro area I might consider it!
They fold in half so it should not be too difficult to pack. I read a reply here about using flat priority boxes. I think that is what I will be doing.
I hope to launch them on Monday Night. With the Pokemon' 3 movie out it should do well. I am hoping for the 40 bucks that someone mentioned here earlier.

There was a thread not to long ago on Pokemon and it sounded like there were a lot of collectors out there. I sure hope you do good. I doubt if you would want to deliver where I am, to far. Also if you are a Broncho fan you wouldn't want to deliver to a Packer fan. Good Luck with your auction.
