Yup, once again Search is seriously funged up. I just did a search in the category my item is listed in, and has been for going on 3 days now, and here's what came up.

Sorry, we couldn't find any items in the category XXXX for XXXX

There are several of these items in this particular category, and not one of them shows up in search.

They all show up when searching the entire site, but not when doing a category search.

Maroons!

Perhaps your catagory was the wrong color......and is backordered...........sorry....I could not help myself! Maybe Ebay will refund your listing fees.......less 20% restocking charge.....ok, I am done........and sorry to hear of your nightmare....do post an update when you have one. If your mother is like mine, she has worried herself (and you) endlessly. That amount of money is a lot if she happens to be on a fixed income.

Hi reddeer...

Title search in the Books category worked for me this morning...but, if I checked off description with the exact same search words my book didn't come up. Again, all I changed in the search was checking the description box.

Why, why, WHY?

Hiya Toke,

Last night it was the "title" search that wouldn't bring the item up, but if I checked off title AND description, it did.
Go figure.

I tried it several times last night, and it always returned the same results.

Today all seems to be working again?

Not for me... In the Books category, I used two words in my title for the search...got 14 hits, one of which was my book. Then, using the same two words, checked the description box. Got 45 hits...NONE of which was my book.

I just don't see how that could happen? You'd think, at least the title aspect would still function and bring up my book, even if the description wasn't working...wouldn't you?

I just did a search for a name of a particular artist and got 53 hits; I then narrowed the search using "x x" and got 69 hits. Very strange!

Just curious, but when you encounter such problems do you report it to eBay or presume they know?

I'm just wondering.

We Canadians are very creative in rendering variations of that most common obsenity - one of the more famous variations - Fuddle Duddle....

Fuddle Duddle, now there's a classic Canadian
term.

JWPC ..... I get the feeling eBay is well aware of the various SNAFU's of their Search engine.

I have a Canadian Fuddle Duddle mug that was issued when the expression was first used.

When I do a search I see that it is also the name of a trolling lure.

funged is just one of those weird Canuck spellings, like colour, centre and catalogue.

It was a lot of fun explaining the meaning of fuddle duddle to my teenagers when PET died.
