Would like some advice on an auction that is closing today. It is for a furniture piece and the high bidder has no feedback. The bids are up to around $250. I know we all have to start somewhere, but I just have this feeling.

Do a search on your bidder and see if they are bidding on anything else.

This will give you an idea if they are on a bidding frenzy or not.

(0)feedback doesn't bother me. I had a (0) feedback bidder buy $450 worth of stuff, and he had $10,000 worth of winning bids. Got paid quickly, and when I went to leave feedback for him, he was over 100.

I checked his auctions and he's bidding on quite a few high price items. My item is an amoire and he is bidding on 5 other ones and a large queen bedset, dvd's etc. Makes me wonder whether he can afford all that shipping charge.

They might have a shop that they are buying inventory for.

Let it ride. They may end up being your best customer!

When I "found" eBay, my first purchase was over $500. It never occurred to me that I may have made my seller nervous!

When I started selling, I never got worried about "newbies"....didn't know I needed to . I had one brand new user who bid on one of my more expensive items and when I checked her bidding activity she had bid on 50 auctions! All of them for very expensive items. She paid me with BP and I gave her first FB. She went on to become a seller's dream. She now has 2X the FB I do!

I have sold $1000+ items to newbies on several occasions with no problems. I've also sold $15 items to bidders with feedback in the high hundreds who ended up stiffing me.

A bidder's feedback is worthless as an indication of how the bidder will complete (or not) a transaction.

These type posts always make me laugh and tick me off a bit also. We were all a zeroat one timeor another. With the increasing popularity of ebay there are new bidders every minute of the day. If it bothers you that much why not call them and express your concerns to them or maybe just do the thing you should have before posting this question, let the auction run its course and treat the winner like any other with a 1000 feedback..........
