Hi Auction Tamer users,
I've been having massive trouble trying to get Auction Poster to work reliably. So far, none of the updates is having any effect. Here is what happens most of the time:
The auction gets hung up in posting. I'll get an insertion fee message, but when I click on maximize window, all I get is a blank screen. When I hit refresh, the eBay logo will appear in the left corner along with a short partial line of garbled HTML.
The auction will have posted as long as I get the insertion fee message, but Auction Tamer won't pick it up. I'll have to add it to the Selling Tab manually.
Sometimes I have to keep trying for 5 minutes to get an auction to post, which is a real frustrating waste of time. Mike has been doing his best to help out, but none of the suggestions are having any effect.
FYI, I've gone back to Mr. Lister and have never had a problem launching auctions with it. I just launched a few with Mr. Lister and had no problem. I also used to use Auction Manager and Auction Manager Pro and didn't have a problem getting the auctions into AW's servers. (Whether they actually launched when scheduled, well, that's another story...)
Now, presumably, there are only a few AT users that are having trouble getting the Auction Poster to work properly. I've been posting over at their message boards along with another user who seems to be experiencing the exact same difficulty. I'm wondering if there are more users out there who are having the same difficulty. The reason I'm coming here to ask is because the message boards aren't very active at AT yet (they're relatively new).
Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated. I'd really like to continue trying to get Auction Poster to work before I give up entirely.
P.S. The problems I'm having are identical to the problems many users have when trying to list directly from eBay's selling page right after they make changes to the selling form. http://bjgrolle.freehomepage.com

I'm confused about your post.
You mention AuctionPoster in your title, but in your post you mention 5 different auction listing programs (AuctionPoster, AuctionTamer, AuctionManager and AuctionManager Pro and Mister Lister).

I'm sorry, EG. Guess my frustration has me rambling a bit.
It's Auction Poster I'm having trouble with. It's the new auction launching program that comes with Auction Tamer, the PSM program I've been using for the past year (no trouble with the PSM part at all either).
I mentioned those others (sorry if it was confusing) to illustrate that if I can successfully launch auctions with Mr. Lister and both of AW's auction launching programs, then how can it be my computer or my system settings that are at fault?
I've downloaded the patch updates and I'm working with version 5.0.4, yet still no dice. I've changed my settings as Mike suggested, still no change. Yet, supposedly the Auction Poster part of the program is working fine for the majority of users. This, I can't figure.

I'm using Auction Poster (have been for years) and I'm not having any problems. But then again, I am using their version 2.60 of AuctionPoster, and I don't have the "Pro" package that they recently came out with. Are you using their Pro package? The one that comes with Ebud and all that extra stuff?
I'm not having any problems with the 2.60 version right now, but when I do have a problem they are usually pretty quick at fixing the problem. I've dealt with many of the support guys over there and I don't remember a Mike, and the AuctionPoster I'm talking about I don't think is associated with AuctionTamer, so now I'm really confused!

Gosh, now I understand the confusion EG. I had no idea that there were 2 programs that used the term Auction Poster.
I'm using the Auction Poster that comes with Auction Tamer. It's new and was just made available a couple of weeks ago. It is not affiliated in any way with the Auction Poster that you're using. Too bad, you probably could have helped me.
Every time eBay makes changes I have problems listing auctions directly from the selling page. Then, after a month or so, for no apparent reason, the problems stop. Well, I decided to try and get around it by using Mr. Lister. Works like a charm. (I used AW's programs until I got tired of seeing my auctions stuck in processing.) Never a problem submitting auctions using any of these programs. Same computer, same ISP, same settings, same antivirus running in the background, etc. But it's like the auctions are getting hung up just the same as if I was trying to list them through eBay's selling form.
Oh well...
If anyone who uses Auction Tamer's new Auction Poster has found a solution to the problem, could you share it please?
