When BIN first came out, I was getting BIN sales like crazy.
Then, when Ebay announced a while ago that they had changed their BIN policy to only be available to users who have a CC on file or get "verified", I think I only got a couple BIN sales during that whole time period.
Now that ebay changed their policy again where you DON'T need a CC on file or get Verified to use BIN, my BIN sales have increased a LOT in just the past couple of days. Today I had 2 BIN sales on things I just listed today.

Definitely more BIN here. I love that-- fast in, fast out and move on to the next sale. :0)
Inspires me to get more auctions listed. Anyone else?

Nope...
You must have been lucky...
Until the "Mighty eBay" removes the following
statement from the BiN link location, you will never see BiN like it was when it started...
The statement is:
<<<Buy It Now ends this listing. This option disappears once a bid is placed. Buy It Now also requires user verification with a <credit card>Link or <alternative verification.>link. <Learn more>link >>>
The first clickable link tells them they have to enter their CC info etc...
(The idiots are still grasping for CC information...Must be worth a fortune to eBay)
Second link pushes for the $5 bucks for ID Verify...Another $$$ grabbing tactic...
The third link has this rule:
<<<Step 3: You may be asked to fulfill certain buyer requirements in order to purchase the item using the Buy It Now feature. The buyer requirements are:
10 feedback OR...
Credit Card (or Debit Card) on file OR...
ID Verify...
Once you have met one of the above requirements, the listing will end automatically. >>>
See how SNEAKY the Mighty eBay is to HIDE the
10 feedback rule..??? Believe me it is hidden...!

Well, I just had my 4th BIN sale today, and all those auctions I listed today.
MRBucks: I see what you mean about what it says on the auction pages about BIN - but remember, that bidders don't actually READ the fine print. I think maybe they saw the notice on the Announcement Board and realize they can now BUY NOW without having a CC on file or be Verified.
Maybe for once, having bidders that DON'T READ (the BIN terms in the auctions) in this instance may be a positive thing!

BIN works fine for me. Faster turnaround. At times the realized price of the auction may have been better but, if the product is replaceable, who cares? List more or similar items and turn them over. There is no shortage of product once can list, then sell quickly. The internet is a changing place. Move along with it and enjoy the ride.

I just woke up and found out I had ANOTHER Buy Now sale last night. That's 5 BIN's out of all the items I listed yesterday (20).
ashlandtrader: you are right... definitely makes me want to just keep on listing!
That rule about the 10 fb was changed this week. I have a fb of 8 (so far) and I couldn't BIN until yesterday after the policy change. Placed 3 BIN bids already
I am one happy buyer now.
4/27/01 - eBay Marketing Announcements Board
***Changes to Buy It Now Requirements***
Since its introduction last November, Buy It Now has been a popular feature with both buyers and sellers. In early March, at the request of sellers who had noticed an increase of Non-Paying Bidders with Buy It Now, we instituted a policy which required a buyer to place their credit card on file with eBay or go through our ID verify process in order to use the feature. While the effect on the amount of Non-Paying Bidders was inconclusive, many buyers and sellers felt the change negatively impacted their eBay experience. New eBay users especially felt this impact.
After careful consideration, we have decided to remove the credit card on file or ID verify requirements for buyers who have positive feedback, or who are new eBay users. >>>Any buyer who has not accumulated a negative feedback rating (less than zero) can purchase using Buy It Now.<<<< Buyers who have accumulated negative feedback (overall rating less than zero), however, will still need to place their credit card on file with eBay or become ID verified in order to use the Buy It Now option.
eBay hopes you continue to enjoy success with the Buy It Now feature. Happy trading!

Hi jugghead, I think what MrBucks is talking about, is even though ebay changed their policy on BUY NOW's (no CC needed on file anymore, etc) that when you still click on the BUY NOW button on an auction that offers it, it still says this:
Buy It Now ends this listing. This option disappears once a bid is placed. Buy It Now also requires user verification with a credit card or alternative verification. Learn more...
I just copied this from one of my auctions I have running right now. Even though ebay made the new policy public on the announcement board, all the auctions with BUY NOW are still saying that the buyers need a CC on file or be verified... so ebay does need to fix that...

Glad to hear you're doing so well with BIN!
My experience with it thus far has been a deadbeat outpouring. End my auction then blow it off! *sigh*
Out of curiosity, EG, are your BIN successes in clothing?
only ZOOMIN here
Yes, all my BIN's yesterday were clothing sales. 4 of them already paid via Billpoint, and 1 said they are mailing me a MO. I only put BIN's on my clothing auctions.
In the past I think I've only had 1 deadbeat who bought with BIN. All my other deadbeats are ones who just bid like normal... and there are a lot of them
The other day I filed 3 FVF's, and when I went to NEG them they were ALL Naru'd!
I was going to go Ebay shopping today but after all my BIN's yesterday I'm going to stay home and list! Love those BIN's!!

I've got a 40-50% DB problem on BIN NEW clothing auctions. Hate to delve further into "our" discrepancy, but, since I pretty much "track" similarly to you, are your successful BIN auctions for your new or used clothing goodies? Lots or individual pieces?
Thanks EG!

To be honest, I haven't really noticed if most of my BIN's in the past were for new or used clothing. BUT.. 2 of my BIN's yesterday were for NEW clothing items and both paid immediately with Billpoint.
All my BIN's were for individual clothing items. I only do lots once in a while and when I do I don't put BIN's on them because they usually go higher than I think they would...
