I think it died because they wanted MOOLA!

discontinuing the mybiz service effective May 18, 2001. We thank you for
using mybiz and wish you every success.

Effective April 30th, we have stopped automatically inserting your toolbar
into your auction listings when you list an item for sale. Your toolbar
will still appear in auctions listed before April 30th. (This is relevant
only to people who sell on eBay and had their toolbar being automatically
inserted in their eBay auctions).
We will continue to forward your mybiz email to the address you specified
for email forwarding until May 31, 2001. To check your forwarding email
address or change it login to your mybiz account and go to your My Account
section.
To export your customer data login to your mybiz account, go to the
Customers section, click on the 'Import/Export Customer Data' link and
follow the export instructions.

Tomwii, If memory serves there was a rumor started by *you* that you jinx every service that you use. It either starts charging lots of $$ or goes down the tubes. You attributed this bad karma to the MP. I am beginning to believe you.
There is a road to redemption. I know it won't be easy, but you have to get rid of the MP .... Be brave.

Tom, they didn't die because they wanted moolah. Their service was geared towards powersellers. The services that are succeeding are aiming at newbie auction sellers by offering a total package at exhorbitant cost (like 5% plus of your total sales). MyBiz didn't have the necessaries: image hosting, templates, auction listing. They focused on connectivity. MyBiz had a good idea but there is little market for it.
