Absolutely not. Companies shouldn't be able to use a help board to advertise themselves. Did you see that guy's attitude? Would you use a business that responds in that manner to people when they object to his presence? Hardly good for public relations. I thought he came across as arrogant and offensive, and that doesn't make me want to use his services. Talk about stabbing yourself in the foot!

It all looks contrived, of course; how else would the company in question find out about the discussion. So, booo to the company.
However, it seems to me that there are plenty of times when it benefits sellers to have an open dialogue about services available to us -- and to be able to identify specific services and companies for purposes of sharing useful information. We run the risk of being too "pure" sometimes. And most of us are actually here for commercial purposes, let's remember.

Hello sweethonesty,
I was not trying to be rude in anyway on the other board, it just got out of hand with the accusations. All I was saying was if a user had a question about our service, I would answer them. I am really a very nice person.

Update. The thread has now been pulled. Our friends across the pond are always very welcome on the UK Boards. We are always nice and polite and never flame.

PayingFast. Can you please explain to me how you can search the UK Boards with comments about your company? As far as I know the EBay UK message boards do not have search facilities. I do stand to be corrected.
