I was search Ebay for on of those X10 wireless camera kits...from one of the listings it led me to x10's website.

At the bottom of the Site it says.

"Orders to Canada have a $10 Shipping & Handling Charge and will have a 7% goods & services tax (GST #10575 8056 RT0001) added to the order"

How can they do this...they are based in Seattle. I would pay GST again when it goes by customs.

Many US companies have the ability to collect GST for their Canadian customers -- you will not be charged GST at the border, although you may have to pay duty.

All the US magazines I order from the US charge GST as does Lands' End.

The advantage to me is that I don't get hit with the $5.00 Canada Post handling fee.
