Over the past couple of weeks I have had several potential bidders email me saying they can't load my auctions. It's always a puzzle because these are auctions where other potential bidders have either emailed me with questions, or already placed bids, so I know other people are able to see them.
When this happens, the bidder reporting the problem is unable to see any of my auctions. At first I thought it was AOL-related (when those *$%^^#^ AOL banners appear at the top of the ebay page they seem to slow things down a lot). But yesterday I had a report and there is no AOL banner involved. In the meantime, somebody came in and BINed the auction, so she was obviously able to get to it.
Now today, first thing in the a.m., another bidder is reporting the same problem. I had a friend check my auctions and they all loaded fine for her.
Any suggestions? Any tips I can offer these bidders to help them view my auctions? It's hard enough to get these items sold--I sure hate to be losing bidders because of a glitch.
When a bidder reports that they can't view your auction, ask them what OS system and what browser they are using on their computer. I have had reports from bidders using an AOL browser on Macintosh OS not being able to view my pages. Perhaps your bidders are having the same problem? You could suggest they use a different browser (like netscape or IE) to view the pages. Hope this helps!

I love Netscape. I use Netscape. There are a lot of auctions on ebay where I cannot get the picture to load. Also quite a few with descriptions that won't load.
I always check my auctions using Netscape and IE after they're listed. (This is the only reason I waste space on my computer for IE)
When I'm buying, if I have to enable Javascript or use IE just to look at your auction, you just lost a sale.
If you have a friend who uses Netscape, have them take a look at your auctions.

IE plays fast and loose with some HTML rules, including closure, which can be both good and bad (here, it just looks very bad).
The most typical culprit would be an unclosed <table>, and this mistake is easiest to make when tables are being nested (but it can happen with a single, unnested table as well).
If your description section immediately starts with an unclosed table, the only thing that will appear in Netscape is the eBay header portion (auction started, ends, # of bids, seller, etc. ).

What's being done in the name of direct marketing nowadays is crazy.
The above are all just my opinions, except where I cite facts as such.
Oh, I am not dc9a320 anywhere except AW. Any others are not me.
Is eBay is changing from a world bazaar into a bizarre world?
