I recently got a bad check from a new buyer. She has promised to send me another check - I asked that she please send a money order, which she said she will. In case she doesn't, is there anything that Ebay can do? I had already left her positive feedback. I just don't know what my options are. Thanks for any advice you can give.

Wait and see if she sends another payment. Ebay won't do anything. You could try and deposit the check again, in a few days. Was it returned because of insufficent funds or was the account closed?
Good Luck!

After giving them 3 months to make good, I send any bad checks to a collection agency. I've been very happy with this one:

It depends on the amount of the check. I had a bad check last year for about 80.00. I went to my bank and talked to them about it. They advised me to go to my police dept. and file a report that would be sent to the police in the check writer's town. I believe it is against the law to write a bad check. I e-mailed this information to the check writer and it got him on the ball. I received a replacement money order pretty fast. I don't know if the police would have done anything or not but I think it scared the check writer.
