I use Excel 97 to keep track of all my auction stuff.

Item #, Title, List Date, Close Date, List Price, Sold PRice, etc....

I can not figure a way to copy and paste the days listing from ebay or AW to my spreadsheet. I type each one in. I keep telling myself there has got to be a way to copy & paste. I try playing around and can't do it. For the short time that ebay had the new My Ebay Page, it worked fine. But with what they had before and have now I just can not do it.

My auction business is growing and I am trying to find so easier ways to accomplish what needs to be done. ie copy & pasting the days listings as opposed to typing 30 of them in each day.

Any ideas??? Are you willing to share how you keep track of things? Do you have a way to copy & paste your dau=ily listings?

Inquiring minds want to know....please share, please.

Thanks,

RichieRich....Its not really hard to do. I have basically the same system as you do, using excel to track my auctions. What I do is take my e-mail Listing confirmations from ebay, open, cut and paste title, then number. Then I just open next message and repeat. (I use Eudora light so already have confirmations organized by ebay lot number)

Hope this helps.

Cliff

I started out with nothing and still have most of it left.

I used Excel before I started using Auction Amigo. The only way I could figure to get the info from an eBay table to Excel is to actually copy and paste to Word first and then cut and paste to Excel. When you copy and paste from eBay, the entire table is pasted into Word. You can edit out any unwanted info and then just cut and paste to Excel. (Use help in Word to learn more about editing tables). Hope this helps.

There was a thread about this a while back and someone posted a great way to do this. I used it and loved the results.

Click on 'search', then 'by seller', select to view completed auctions and bring the page up (also select to view the winning bidders' email addresses, this is available to you as the seller).

Once it's up, copy the whole thing (select it all and right click copy) and then paste into an Excel spreadsheet. The great thing about this method is that the email addresses are 'clickable' and you can then use this spreadsheet to send your EOA messages. I love this!

Thanks for the great ideas. I never thought about going throw Word then to Excel, makes sense.

I tried the seller list deal before. The problem is they think they are clickable, so every time you click to go to that row or cell I get a message about not being able to go there or something. Drives me nuts.

Thanks again for your ideas.

What is Auction Amigo? Where can I find out more about it?

"I use Excel 97 to keep track of all my auction stuff."

Save the page onto your hard drive, then use EXCEL to OPEN the HTML file .... delete a bunch of non-essential crap and you have a spreadsheet.

Then you can rearrange the columns to suit yourself, or paste the new rows into your main spreadsheet.

EDITED TO ADD:
To kill that bl;asted active link, in Word, just select the WHOLE DOCUMENT and press "CRTL SHIFT F9" ... blows away almost all fields and links.

In EXCEL, insert a new column next to the hexed one, select and copy the hexed column,
then paste it into the empty column using the PASTE SPECIAL option from the list, selecting "values" as the way to paste. Then delete the hexed column. This removes active links and formulas.
