I received this email from a bidder this morning...I expected to see a post about this here in the Message Center, but found nothing...did the bidder make up this or what? Can't find anything at Ebay either...can anyone explain? Here is the context of the email...it was sent to a bidder who appears to have closed an auction I had with a Buy It Now..............
Good morning,
Here is a copy of the email that was sent to me by eBay......
Hello,
Thank you for writing. We have received some reports from members
indicating that their auctions ended at the "Buy it Now" price when they
had actually only placed a bid for a lower amount. Unfortunately, once
"Buy it Now" has been used, it automatically ends the auction and the
bid cannot be retracted.
We are currently investigating this issue to find the cause and repair
it as soon as possible.
Until this has been resolved, please contact the seller involved with
this auction and let them know what has occurred and seek a mutually
acceptable resolution for the auction.
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your
patience as we work diligently to bring this feature back to normal
operation.

Ohhh...and if it is true, why is Ebay contacting the Bidder and not the Seller !?!?? I have not received anything from Ebay about this...

Either what Jane said, OR your bidder made it up and wrote it himself. Did he forward it to you with full headers? It doesn't read like the e-mails I get from Ebay. It is understandable! Either Karl E. is a prince, or he is your buyer.
