I had an auction close in early March and the buyer sent an email saying that they were going to mail payment. I waited a couple of weeks and payment was never received. I sent a follow-up email and waited about a week and then started the NPB process through E-bay. The buyer did not respond to my 2nd email or to the email from E-bay. I filed for my FVF refund on Monday. Last night I get this e-mail from the buyer.
Dear *** I see there were two auction payments here with envelopes
addressed that were never mailed. Yours was one of them. I see I will be
getting a non-pay for the transaction if it is not resolved. Please
advise. I can understand if you already wrote me off on this. Thanks,

Well it seems to me it's a little late. But does better late than never apply here? I still have the item. What would you do???

I had something similar to this happen once. The only difference is after 40 something days the check shows up (AND this person had high feedback) I wanted to get rid of the merchandise so I shipped it. I then emailed ebay customer support and told them I had completed the transaction (I had filed both NPB and FVF) and they took the NPB from the buyers file and debited my account for the FVF. It was the right thing to do, at least for me.

I've had it happen to me.
I sold my slow payer the item. As long as I still have the item, it needs a home & I need the money.
I remove the NPB too.
Hey, goof-ups happen to us all. I just hope that I have enough positive karma so that when I goof up, I get a benefit of the doubt too.

I emailed the buyer and told him if he sent payment I would be happy to mail him the item and contact Ebay cust service about reversing the NPB. He said he would mail the payment right away. To bad there isn't above and beyond the seller's call of duty extra positive feedback.
