My 7 year old daughter was so excited today. She told Dad we have to go to the store and get Mom something. She came home with a beautiful red rose and Mc Donald's for me. When she walked in she told me this is what I got you and Dad got you garbage bags. It was so comical.

Oh, a storage shed! My Hubby was installing the a/c in the kitchen yesterday and usually runs the power cord in through the back door. (Everything around here's kind of jury-rigged, so nothing plugs in where it should except the computers and phone lines, and 220 stuff, LOL.) Anyway, this door never gets used in the winter and it's the perfect cubby for storage so naturally it's stacked 3/4's of the way up to the ceiling, LOL. He gave me the dirtiest look! Well, a simple solution would be a storage shed, LOL.

Ah, but what I did get (the storage shed is on the list of projects) is a new set of speakers for my 'puter. He took all 3 kids in late last evening to go shopping. They came home and my 3-year-old comes running in--'Mommy, we got you new speakers!'

My daughter works in a comedy club. Last night she comped me and a friend for cocktails and the show. We had a really great time. Then today, she took me to lunch, and brought me flowers and a big white bear holding red hearts and three silk roses! I had a very fun weekend! I love Mother's Day!!

Socks! I was so excited. I never can keep the pairs together. My daughter (17 y/o) loves to wear them mismatched so she borrows mine and one half gets lost, etc... I also got a pretty new shirt and a gift card for Blockbuster. A good day with my 3 kids.

Has anyone ever heard of a country group called the Oak Ridge Boys? My brother and his wife are big on country music (I'm definitely NOT), so he arranged for him and me and our respective spouses to take my mom to see them perform in a place called Warsaw, Indiana last night.

Actually, I was surprised. I recognized a lot of the songs (Elvira, Dream On) and they put on a pretty good show. It was a very small theater in the round, so we were up close and personal with lots of good voice.

Happy Mother's Day, one and all! I didn't get anything.

Added later: Well maybe I did get something. I asked my son today if he's glad that I'm his mom, and he responded, "very much so." That's pretty cool coming from an 18-year-old. [ edited by marble on May 13, 2001 07:59 PM ]

I got a wonderful breakfast from my ten year old - and an attitude from my husband when I got mad at him for being over an hour late meeting us at a local restaurant for dinner.

Maybe I'll leave coal in HIS stocking this year....

My kids made me breakfast in bed - French toast (the frozen kind), diet Dr. Pepper and a popsickle! They also gave me a pretty enameled watering can and a metal statue of a fairy for my garden.
