Just wondering about a couple of scenarios.
Seller lists an auction with a BIN price--unscrupulous competitor buys it now with a fake/brand new ID to get it off the market while his similar item continues, of course never intending to buy yours.
Seller lists an auction with BIN, unscrupulous competitor has a similar item with BIN price also. Bids on yours to remove the BIN price while his continues with BIN price.

There are all kinds of ways someone can "game" a system as automated as ebay. With No Reserve auctions, a seller could bid his competitors auction up higher than it should be to make his look like a good deal.

In the case of not paying, the bidder faces the penalty of not paying.
In the second instance, as long as he pays if he wins, thats the breaks.
There are items I see that have a BIN that I think is to high, so I bid the minimum so the item will not vanish to BIN and wait till the end of the auction to snipe.

Yes, but if an ID was just set up for a one time "BIN" he may not care about penalties.
Just hypothetical situations.
I've got a buyer who ended an auction of mine with BIN 9 or 10 days ago and doesn't seem too anxious to pay. If he was anxious to pay and get the item, the money would have probably been here by now. It just got me to thinking about the above--not saying this is what happened to me.
