Does Ebays new policy mean I can no longer have a link to my Auctionwatch storefront??? This has been one bad situation after another here....I am just a small time seller and I was thrilled when Auctionwatch introduded the Storefront...Since then, ebay fees have gone up and Auctionwatch started charging fees..Now they want to take away my link to my Storefront???!!! I cant believe this is happening....I dont think this is fair because all the items in my Storefront are ebay auctions!!!!

jlamb:

Your'e safe...

As long as your storefront link is one click to your gallery that exclusively lists your ebay auctions your ok.

The topic was briefly discussed this morning and the above ruling was sent by eBay via email to one of our Auction Watch users.

It is not ok - I received not only a phone call from eBay's safeharbor but an email. Effective May 10 - if they catch an auction listed after that date with the link to AW's storefront - they will cancel your auction.

***Links Policy Clarification***

On May 10th we announced that we would increase enforcement of our policy on links off the View Item page, as well as modify our links policy as it pertains to About Me pages. We have received a number of questions about the links policy asking for a bit of clarification.

The intent of the View Item page is to describe a specific item listed for sale. It is not to advertise other products or businesses.

For the text of the new policy click here.

Here are some clarifications to questions from users about the new policy:

Sellers may link to their email address from the View Item page.

Sellers may link to their eBay or Half.com listings grouped in a picture gallery or similar format as long as there are no specific non-eBay products listed for sale on the gallery page.

Sellers may link from the View Item page to a site with additional information that isn't item specific, such as a gemstone grading system or clothing size guide. However, it will be considered the one link that further describes the item listed and must not contain any specific non-eBay products listed for sale

Sellers may link from the View Item page to organizations such as the Better Business Bureau, Squaretrade or OAUA, provided the seller is a member of the organization and it is relevant to their business or the item being sold.

Sellers may link to their About Me page from the View Item page, however they may not include specific product promotional text in describing their About Me page.

All logo style links from the View Item page may be no greater than 88x33 pixels. The only exception to this rule is the link to your eBay or Half.com listings.

More information is available here

Regards,
eBay
