It seems that ever since ebay increased it's fees that people are looking for alternative sites. Just look in AW message center for other auction sites. Will Ebay continue to be The Giant or will other sites be comparative????? What do you all think? What about ePier and Bidville are they the next giants? or will it be Yahoo or Amazon ect,??????

I don't think there will ever be another "giant"... but I do have hope that there will be some other SUCCESSFUL sites as viable OPTIONS.

I like the CO-op idea.

I like www.epier.com

and

I like www.sellyouritem.com

But I like all of these in ADDITION to eBay.

Hi Dottie, I have to congratulate you on your aplomb in the midst of chaos yesterday (not that it got any results!).

I too registered at epier and gave your name as my reference at that other site you mentioned.

Finally and at last,I am moving my eggs out of just one basket! Good luck to all where ever you list!

I think anything is possible. The result will probably be determined by how much the other auction sites are willing to advertise. eBay has gotten as big as they are today because they advertise. They keep on getting more buyers and sellers who are new to this whole idea of on-line auctions. Many of the sellers and buyers who go to most of the other auction sites used to be users on eBay and switched auction sites because of eBay's disrespect. Some of the people who found these other auctions sites found them because they were looking for an alternative auction site. In order for an auction site to get big they need to advertise to get those brand new auction users before eBay gets them.

Depends on what eBay does. If they get too restrictive there could be a migration to other auctions. I went to buy a hard drive today and looked at Bidville and ePier first. There was nothing there to bid on. If there was I would have bypassed eBay. When someone can go and the thing they need is there it will fly.
