Okay~ I have read that geocities would delete your pictures from your auctions. My software that I use to build my auction TELLS us to use them so I decided to believe them. Well......this morning I wake up to find all of my pictures GONE! I have emailed Geocities and am waiting to hear from them. Most of my auctions have bids so I am not sure what to do. I know it is my fault because I should have listened......has this happened to anyone else? I have no idea how to fix this and I hate to cancel my bids and end my auctions. What hosting site do you use? I don't mind paying a small one time fee if it is a stable site (as if there is one!). Thanks in advance for all the great, supportive comments I am going to receive~~~ Julie

Don't panic! Their terms of service that you were supposed to read when you signed up says no remote loading, which means you can't upload and file your photos there and link them to another site. Unless you purchased Geocities business pages, you also can't use your page there as a host for profit making pages.
I use photopoint.com. They allow a certain amount of photos without charge. You can also use ebay's photo service or honesty.com. There are several out there that won't delete your pictures.
I don't know if ebay still has an agreement with xoom.com, but they used to. There's also zing.com, but I'm told sometimes the photos don't come up. Have no idea why not.
You can add the photos back to your auctions with bids by going to the site map and choosing add to your description. It tells you how to add a photo.

As I learned a while ago, you have to decide what image you are presenting to your customers (I mean your business image, not your auction photos.) Are you going to run around looking for free or cheap sites that will take your photos down without notice or take so long to load that folks cancel before your auction even finishes appearing on the screen?
My own personal web site, with 50 megs of space, unlimited email ids, supports everything I want to do, which includes creating my own databases which I can access right from my own ASP pages. I have had no down time and I KNOW that my business has gone way up since I set it up. A bargain for $10 a month, which included the domain name and lots of support when I needed it.

If you want a lot of space for a reasonable price, I found ehost.com is offerign 250MB of space for $13 a month. You get free domain registration with that. So you could create an online store, or just use it for image hosting.
