I have what I think is a religious piece. It is made of clay and has god or jesus in the middle. Around him are the words "smutkeliu salis lietuva"
Anybody have any idea what that might mean or what language it might be? TIA! :0)

I did a quick search of those words on the net, and they most often appear on Lithuanian web sites. Hope that helps.

As promised, here's the response from my friend Andrius when I asked him if the phrase was Lithuanian:
______
Yes, it is. "Salis", pronounced "sha-lis" (the s should have a little check
mark over it like Š) means "land" as in "land of the free". Lietuva is Lithuanian
for Lithuania. "Smutkeliu" is plural possessive (or something like that).
Many of them would be smutkeliai. One would be smutkelis. But I don't know
what it means. Never heard of it.
The saying is "Lithuania - the land of smutkeliai."
