I had an auction end BIN with the winner bidder having 8 total feedbacks, 3 of those being negs for not paying. This person's feedback also says they leave negatives before they have had a chance to have the item arrive. Some of them said that the person tried to say that they never received the item.
They paid with PayPal the next day (today) and the payment shows that the sender is "verified" but there is no confirmed address. The funding type is "E-Check". It shows that I should wait four days before shipping my item until the funds clear the buyer's bank.
Does this sound risky or am I just being paranoid? I don't want to get ripped-off and I don't want get my first negative over this. I've been selling on eBay for only about 1 1/2 months.

I'd definitely wait till the transaction switches from 'pending' to 'complete' before shipping. A buyer could cancel a pending payment. As far as not having a 'confirmed' address there is a good chance the buyer doesn't have a credit card registered with PayPal (thus there couldn't be a confirmed address), since the payment isn't via credit card or an instant transfer (which also requires a CC on file).
I'd probably send a sugary letter confirming I do have the pending eCheck payment and I'll be wrapping the item and will send it as soon as it changes from 'pending' to 'complete'.

When I get eChecks for either PayPal or Billpoint and people inquire I always tell them I can not ship till PayPal/Billpoint tells me I can. If they say anything back I copy the portion of the e-mail right at the bottom that says do not ship till you get the ok.

OK, well I have PayPal set up so that I had to either accept or deny the payment. Does it try to take the money from their bank only after I accept?
